Ryan Vaughn

With heavy hearts the Vaughn family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved Ryan L. Vaughn on June 20, 2021 at his home in South Wilmington. A son of Terri Sula and Curly Vaughn, Ryan graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 2005; was a member of the Laborers Local #75, and owned and operated Vaughn Construction Company. All who knew Ryan would agree that he was a hardworking, kind man who held a strong love of family. He loved everything outdoors, and particularly enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding. Ryan’s passing not only leaves a hole in our hearts, but his absence from our sight will leave an indescribable void for all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Vaughn whom he married July 30, 2016; two sons: Ryder Sula Vaughn and Brayton Irwin Vaughn; his parents: Terri (Mike Irwin) Sula of Goose Lake and Curly and Jill Vaughn of Diamond; siblings: Jen (Cary) Fritz of Apache Junction, Arizona, David Swore of Wilmington, Josh (Lindsay Eddy of Diamond and Kyle (Samantha) Eddy of Goose Lake; maternal grandparents: Alan and Sherry Sula of Goose Lake; paternal grandparents: Bill and Susan Vaughn of Doniphan, Missouri, Camilla and Dave Russell of West Frankfort, Illinois and Joseph (the late Pat) Phillips of Diamond; his father-in-law, Mike (the late Maria) Guereca of Coal City; uncles and aunts: Dean (Margie) Sula of Goose Lake, Steve Vaughn of Chicago, Jane (Jeff) Wills of Diamond and Joe Phillips of Minooka, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Connie (Jermaine) Rodriguez, Jessica (Damian) Rivera and Mike Guereca, all of Chicago and Olivia Guereca of Coal City, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Friday, June 25, 2021 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
