Selma L. Fatlan

Selma L. Fatlan, 98, of Minooka, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center in Morris.
Born February 27, 1925 in Story City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Edward and Helen (Skartveit) Alsvig. Selma married Glenn Fatlan on April 20, 1946 in Joliet and for most of their married life they lived in Minooka. For many years she owned and operated her own beauty shop, Sally’s Perma Curl in Minooka.
She is survived by her children, Dale Fatlan of Minooka, Kenneth Fatlan of Morris, LaVerne (Marcia) Fatlan of Morris and Sharon (David, deceased) Allen of Minooka; five grandchildren; several great and great, great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene ( Deloris)Alsvig of Sugar Grove; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband, Glenn in 2013; three sisters and two brothers.
She was a member of Minooka Mission Bible Church. Selma enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing bingo and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Lightways Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Minooka Mission Bible Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27 , 2023 from 4: 00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris.
