Sharon Bertoglio

Age 80 of Aurora, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Acsencion Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

Born January 7, 1944 in Muscatine, Iowa, Sharon Grace was a daughter of William and Katherine (Aden) Durre. She graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School and went on to attend Illinois State University in Bloomington. She worked in the insurance industry for IAA in Bloomington before gaining employment with the State of Illinois Department of Corrections. Her career with the DOC placed her in an accounting position with Stateville Correctional Center, and she later retired out of a department office in St. Charles.

Sharon was a member of Redeemer Community Church in Aurora, and in her free time enjoyed reading and collecting. She had a love of animals, particularly cats, and will most be remembered as a friendly, loving and giving soul that had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Raymond Carstens of Flanagan, Illinois, and nieces and nephews: Randy (Sandra) Carstens, Bonnie (Brian) Vollmer, Sue (Steven) Wright, Julie (Gary) Hughes, John (Bonnie) Adams, Marianne (Dean) Melvin, Lori Pierard, Ginny (Jerry) Thompson, Wayne (Rhonda) Wolfe, Danny (Brenda) Wolfe and Sandy (Mick) Lauterbach.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dominic in 1995 and one niece Robin Carstens in infancy.
