Shawn A. Doherty

Age 60 of Wilmington, formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home.

Born August 3, 1960 in Bayonne, New Jersey, Shawn Adam was a son of the late William and Lenore (Dzimek) Doherty. He was raised and educated in Bayonne and graduated from Bayonne High School. He met Eunice Wlodarski in 1982, and on March 18, 1994, they were married and together made their home in Wilmington. He worked for Exxon Mobil and IMTT in Channahon as a terminal man. He retired after 42 years of service, and made many lifelong friends there who he remained close with after retirement. Shawn was a member of the NRA, and will be remembered for his love of family. He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren whom he was over the moon, for and they adored him. Shawn was fortunate enough to marry his best friend of 38 years, Eunice, who will miss him dearly and be lost without him. “RIP Geek”

Survivors include his loving and adoring wife, Eunice Doherty of Wilmington; one wonderful and beloved son, Stephen Krand of Wilmington, three cherished grandchildren: Stephen Tyler Krand, Mariah Rose Krand, and Daniel Edward Rulien; one brother, Christopher Doherty of Florida, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gregory (the late Ruth) Wlodarski, Andrew (Judy) Wlodarski, and Keith (Lisa) Wlodarski, all of New Jersey, and Janet Delaney of Virginia; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends and co-workers.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, June Mary Doherty, his loving mother-in-law, Eunice Wlodarski, one brother-in-law, Teddy Wlodarski, and two sisters-in-law: Dolores (Rodney) Husker and Patricia Wlodarski.

Per Shawn’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a COVID observant visitation on Tuesday April 27, 2021, at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
