Age 98, passed away May 28, 2025.

Born in Coal City, IL to the late Charles and Antoinette (Cerny) Styber, she was a lifelong resident of Coal City, graduating from Coal City High School with the class of 1944.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Joe) Klepk, sons Mark (Christie) Marsaglia, Michael (Mary) Marsaglia, grandchildren Kathryn (Coy) Shaw, Kathleen (Matthew) Otzel, Matthew (Kristen) Marsaglia, Emily Marsaglia, Nicholas Marsaglia, Jacob (Emily) Klepk, and great grandchildren Joshua Bradford, Brady Shaw, Bella Shaw, Haley Klepk, Matilda Otzel, Max Otzel, Morganne Otzel, Eliana Marsaglia, and Zoe Marsaglia. Also surviving are niece Karen Campbell, great nephews Jeff and Greg Campbell, numerous cousins, and the many friends resulting from her journey through life. Proceeded in death by an infant son, her parents, brother Charles Styber, Jr., sister Helen McDermott and brother-in-law Alex McDermott.

Her years of employment included Field Director of Ammunition Plants/Ordinance Ammunition Center, Northern Petro-Chemical Company, where she organized the company’s Retiree’s Club, and ENT Surgical Consultants. Volunteer years included transporting cancer patients to Provena Saint Joseph’s Medical Center (PSJMC) and to Hines Veteran Hospital for treatment, PSJMC Women’s Auxiliary, Cub Scout Leader, and the many fund raisers for her children’s schools. A lifetime member of Assumption Catholic Church, she was an active choir member for many years, a member of the Martha’s, and a Minister of Care to the home bound.

She enjoyed her family through the many years of extensive travel and adventure, playing cards and board games with family and friends. Bus trips to the many theaters, also, added many happy times.

A memorial visitation will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Coal City on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Josh Miller presiding and Deacon William Dunn assisting. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial luncheon in the Berst Center immediately after the Mass.

Inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington, IL.

Preferred memorials to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, or Assumption Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
