Sidney C. Adams
Age 78 of Morris, Illinois, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Serenity Estates in Morris.
Born December 22, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, Sidney Carol was a daughter of Roland and Violet (Curth) Rhyne. She was raised in the South Suburbs of Chicago, graduated from Thornridge High School with the Class of 1965, and completed an Associate's Degree at Thornton Community College in 1967. Sidney gained employment with AT&T as a service representative, and devoted 30 years of dedicated service to her profession until retiring in 2003.
As a young woman, she was devoted to the performing arts, participating in the National Forensics League, Thespians, musical theater and ballet. Sidney was a strong woman and was a past member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the League of Women's Voters. She was a woman of strong faith, from her roots with Church of the Holy Name in Dolton, Illinois to the bible studies she participated in while at The Pointe and at Serenity Estates, she found great peace in her relationship with God.
Amongst her other interests were Olympic Figure Skating and Gymnastics, as well as reading and television programs such as Dancing with the Stars or anything on the Food Network. Sidney had a great love for cooking and she enjoyed trying out new recipes and collecting cookbooks. She loved being with her family and cherished any time spent with them, and will be missed dearly by those she loved.
Survivors include her son, Erik J. Adams, and granddaughter, Kelsey Adams, both of Marseilles; three siblings: Judy (Robert) Zalkus of Antioch, Illinois, Roxanne (the late Carl Meinzer) Rhyne of Fishers, Indiana, and Paul S. (the late Theresa) Rhyne of Steger, Illinois; nieces and nephews: Dawn Zalkus (Brett Mich), Jamie (Garrett) Kucinski, Heather (Frank) Palladino, Paul J.
