Simon "Skip" Russell

Age 74 of Wilmington, passed away Monday June 05, 2006 at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet.

Born August 13, 1931 in Wilmington, Skip was a son of the late William and Sadie (Richards) Russell. Skip was retired from Amoco Corp. and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington, Geneva Masonic Lodge, Courtesy member of Wilmington Masonic Lodge, Amity Lodge of West Chicago, Order of the Eastern Star and he coached little league teener baseball in Warrenville. He was an avid sportsman and fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include his loving wife Pauline (nee Kornbrust) and devoted children: two daughters: Brenda Johnson of Shorewood and Paula (Al) Hoehn of Elwood and one son Dennis (Laurie) Russell of Geneva. Six grandchildren: Christina Doyle, Philip Resendiz, Lisa Russell, Jonathon Johnson, Courtney Russell and Gerrick Russell. Seven Great Grandchildren, two brothers: Richard (Jackie) Russell of Indianapolis, IN and Harry J. (Barbara) Russell of Villa Park. One sister June (the late Raymond) Milczewski of Northlake and numerous nieces, nephews and a cousin, as well as his special pal Teddy.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 08, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM with a Masonic service at 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Friday June 9th at 10:00AM in Grace Lutheran Church, 907 Luther Drive at Kahler Road in Wilmington. Rev. Heidi St. Michael will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made as gifts in Skip's memory to Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington, Parkinson's Research or Diabetes Association of America.

The Russell family would like to thank the Wilmington paramedics and Pastor Heidi St. Michael for all of their kindness

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington, Illinois.
