Age 35 of McLeansboro, Illinois, formerly of Wilmington and Braidwood passed away June 4, 2020.

Born November 15, 1984, in Joliet, Illinois Sonny Daniel was a son of Joe Hertko and Geraline Southall. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and Joliet. Sonny was a self-employed tattoo artist. He enjoyed art, music, the outdoors, and truly loved his family. Sonny will be remembered for his outgoing personality, big heart, and the smile which was always on his face.

Survivors include his parents: Joe Hertko and Geraline (nee Southall) Johnson; his foster mom: Della (nee Gallegos) Haynes; three children:  Gage Nathaniel Southall, Chase Tek Southall, and Sonny Wessin Southall; brother: Michael Southall (Sarah Walker) and sister: Terrie Gallegos both of Joliet; paternal grandfather: Daniel Hertko; niece and nephews: Ashley Fields of Braidwood, and Mikey, David, and William Southall all of Joliet; the mother of his children, Renee French and several aunts and numerous cousins.

Sonny was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, maternal grandparents, and his uncle.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be a celebration of life held from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Godley Park District, 500 S. Kankakee St. Godley, Illinois 60407.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the family for the benefit of Sonny’s three children.
