Stephen P. Olsen

Wilmington, formerly of Bolingbrook, IL, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in Wilmington.

Born January 2, 1954 in Berwyn, Stephen Paul was a son of Henry "Bud" and Dorothy (Farrell) Olsen. He was raised and educated in Downers Grove, IL where he graduated from high school. Stephen worked in logistics for several different companies, including Embossed Graphics in Aurora, IL for 15 years. He was a great fan of sports and enjoyed cheering on all the Chicago sports teams. Stephen had a strong work ethic and took pride in providing for his family. While he was a private man, he cherished time spent with family. Stephen was a loving and caring father and grandfather, and loved his dear canine companion, Buddy.

Survivors include three sons: Steven Olsen, Matthew (Kristen) Olsen of Oswego, and Dan (Erin) Olsen of Wilmington; six grandchildren: Austin, Izzy, Rylan, Sadie, Gavin, and Chloe; three sisters: Mary Olsen and Nancy (Scott) Krug, both of Stuart, FL, and Kathy Olsen of Jensen Beach, FL; numerous nieces and nephews, and his former wife and mother of his children, Wendy Olsen of Wilmington, who was a dedicated caregiver to Stephen in his final day.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Bud Olsen.

Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and the family is planning a memorial for a later date.
