Born on May 30, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, Suzanne Irene was a daughter of William and Irene (Kolarik) Harrig. She was raised in the western suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Downers Grove South High School with the Class of 1970.
Later that year, Suzanne married the love of her life, Bill “Earl” Roge, on August 7, 1970. Together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with devotion, family, and countless cherished memories.
Suzanne was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora before relocating to South Wilmington in 2006. She was also an active member of the CECO Recreational Club in Coal City, where she and her family enjoyed many years of friendship and community. A woman of many talents, Suzanne found joy in reading, crocheting, sewing, and crafting. She was an accomplished seamstress and especially loved creating homemade Halloween costumes, a tradition that reflected her creativity and playful spirit. Suzanne was also known as an exceptional cook, fondly remembered for her delicious brown gravy and her famous chocolate chip cookies. Suzanne had a deep love for animals and cherished her pets, including her Siamese cats and beloved dogs. She also enjoyed the music of Frank Sinatra and embraced life with a unique charm that made her truly one of a kind.
Suzanne will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared so generously with those around her. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survivors include her three children: Timothy Roge of Aurora, Illinois, Andrew Roge of Crown Point, Indiana, and Kelly (Kiley) Goodman of Ottawa, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Alexander, Ayden, Audrey, Evan, Elias, Eleanor, and Mckenna; siblings: Will Harrig, and Lisa (Steve) Wroblewski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Stephen Roge and Judy Roge, and several nieces and nephews, as well as her canine and feline companions: Archie and Roxy.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents William and Irene (Kolarik) Harrig, and husband, Bill on April 6, 2023.
