Age 40 of Morris, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Born June 19, 1981 in Joliet, Illinois, Timothy James is the son of Kenneth James and Mary Carroll (Davidson) Hanley of Morris. He was raised in Morris; graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1999 and went on to serve in the United States Army.

Tim was most recently employed with Costco until his declining health forced him to leave. In years past he took pleasure in dirt biking and four wheeling, however music was always his passion. Tim was a self-taught musician, loved to play the guitar, and played in a band. He enjoyed movies and will most be remembered for the love he had for his daughter, who was the drive and inspiration, in which he lived for each day.

Survivors include his parents; daughter Lani Hanley of Morris; sister, Erin Hanley of Ottawa; aunts and uncles: Roger (Donna) Hanley of Tampa, Florida and Judi (Craig) Nettleingham of Ottawa; niece and nephew: Ty Muffler and Libby Muffler, both of Ottawa and several cousins, as well as the mother of his daughter, Dawn (Zach) Misener of Morris.

Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maurice “Buck” and Anne Davidson and paternal grandparents: Francis and Louise Hanley.

Private family services will be held and Tim will be laid to rest with military honors in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Tim’s memory to Operation St. Nick or to Immaculate Conception School in Morris.
