Tony McCoy

Age 64 of Morris, Illinois, died Friday afternoon, September 16, 2022 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.

Born November 11, 1957 in Aurora, Illinois, Carl Anthony is a son of Lee McCoy of California and the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Birthold) Wagner. He was raised in Aurora and graduated from Aurora West High School with the Class of 1975. Tony owned and operated Montana Construction Company in Morris for many years, and in his free time he could often be found metal detecting, prospecting and collecting relics and stamps. Tony enjoyed vegetable gardening and woodworking, and will be remembered as a great handy man.

Survivors include his wife, Christl (nee Boyle); children: Matthew (Taylor) McCoy of Genoa City, Wisconsin, Christopher (Jenn) Greenback of Palmdale, California and Patrick (Melinda) Greenback of Arlington, Washington; three grandchildren: Lynda McCoy and Tucker and Landon Greenback; his father, Lee; two sisters: Christine (Tom) Lawson and Catherine McCoy, both of California; his father-in-law, Lawrence A. Boyle; and two brothers-in-law: Lawrence (Grace Ann) Boyle of Morris and John (Jan) Boyle of Bourbonnais, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Betty (Joe) Wagner.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and per Tony’s wishes there will be no services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Tony’s memory to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431
