Urban J. Frazier, Jr.

Age 79 of Morris, Illinois, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at his home.

Born January 2, 1944 in Kankakee, Illinois, Urban was the son of Urban, Sr. and Betty (Newman) Frazier. He was raised in Kankakee, graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School, and attended Southern Illinois University. On December 14,1968, Urban married Carol Ann Barker of Decatur, Illinois.

He was a salesman for his entire professional career, using his natural people skills to make connections and make any stranger feel like a friend. Urban had the gift of gab and was a familiar face at all the local stores, well known for his big smile and even bigger voice. He was an avid outdoorsman and looked for any opportunity to get outside. Urban enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and working in his vegetable garden. He was a voracious reader and was especially fond of Western novels and anything written by Clive Cussler or James Patterson.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Frazier of Morris, Illinois; two sons: Jeff (Lisa) Frazier of Naperville, Illinois and David (Cheryl) Frazier of Joliet, Illinois; six grandchildren: Evan, Ella, Katey, Tristan (fiance’ Karley), Prestan, and Shawn; two brothers: Bret (Joanne) Frazier and Bart (Kathi) Frazier, both of Bourbonnais, Illinois; and five nieces and nephews.

Urban was preceded in death by his parents, Urban J. Frazier, Sr. and Betty Frazier.

Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and a memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Urban’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
