Obituary

Virginia Ann Urbanik

Age 78, of Morris, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Arcadia Care of Morris.

Born on April 10, 1947, in Morris, Virginia was a daughter of Kermit and Jeannette (Carlson) Ness. She was raised outside of Morris and graduated with the Morris Community High School Class of 1965. On November 16, 1968, Virginia married Timothy Urbanik in Morris, where the couple built their life together and lovingly raised a family.

Virginia, affectionately known as Gina to family and friends, was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Morris. Throughout the years, she worked at D&S Grocery Store, Humiston-Keeling, and Metro Rubber. Beyond her employment, Gina had a heart for service and generously volunteered her time at local nursing homes, where she will be fondly remembered for her warm visits and caring presence.

Gina found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid bingo player, a wonderful baker, and especially cherished making Norwegian Kringla cookies alongside her children and grandchildren, a tradition that created lasting family memories. Gina enjoyed trips to the riverboat casino and treasured traveling adventures with her grandchildren.

Above all, Gina’s greatest love was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, always organizing family reunions and coordinating activities for the kids. Her warmth, energy, and devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Survivors includer her husband, Timothy; daughter, Tammy (Alan) Krzysciak of Morris; son Brian Urbanik of Chicago; grandchildren: Michael Krzysciak (Kevin) of Dwight and Tia Krzysciak (fiancé – Alex) of Morris; great grandchildren: Ryan and Zoe; two brothers: Bill Ness and Bob (Barb) Ness, both of Morris; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Helen Ness of Morris, Jane (Jerry) Weber of Shorewood and Susan (Rupert) Rodriguez of Crest Hill, and several nieces and nephews, as well as her longtime dear friend, Billy Jean Matteson.
