Born April 10, 1953 in Morris, Illinois, Willard Laverne, affectionately known as "Red", was the son of Melvin and Mary (Lampman) Mikkelson. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was always up for a good Western show or movie. He was a truly genuine person who took the time to really get to know a person. Red was the type of man that was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and was generous with his time.
