William Ely

WILLIAM R. ELY, JR. "Bill" Age 64 of Wytheville, Virginia and formerly Wilmington, Illinois passed away Tuesday August 09, 2005 at Wythe Community Hospital.

Born in Joliet, IL on July 11, 1941, Bill was a son of the late William R., Sr. and Dorothy (Momson) Ely. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School. Bill served in the US Army and was employed by Durkee Foods until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

Survivors include one brother Richard (Linda) Ely of Virginia, several nieces, nephews and cousins and one aunt; Virginia Momson of Joliet.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Nancy Rae Reysen.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 15, 2005 from 11AM until time of funeral services 12 Noon at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. Rev. Kay Collins will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
