William J. "Bill" Treadman, Jr.

Age 66 of Wilmington, Illinois, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Loyola University Medical Center in Proviso Township, Illinois, from complications due to open heart surgery.

Born November 29, 1956 in Joliet, Illinois, William Joseph was the son of William, Sr. and Catherine (nee Schaubel) Treadman. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1974. Bill gained employment with Alumax in Morris, Illinois and later worked for Republican Printing Company in Joliet and retired from Sears in Manteno, Illinois.

An active member of Saint Rose Catholic Church, he was an avid sports fan, supporting the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, and Bears. Baseball was a lifelong passion of Bill's, as he was active in little league, school league, and travel clubs throughout his youth. He was also a NASCAR fan and looked forward to the Daytona 500 every year. Bill's enthusiasm for music was very apparent, and he could often be found listening to classic 70's and 80's rock and roll. He was a fun, outgoing guy who stayed true to his roots and loved his family dearly.

Survivors include two sisters: Grace Hert of Wilmington and June (the late Jim) Miller of Winston, Georgia; one nephew, Bernie Warriner of Texas, three aunts: Beverly Treadman, Elsie Mae Krohn, and Diane Hicks; and his cousins: Pat Abanatha, Jack Skeldon, Jeff Treadman, Mike Sullivan, Sue Lyday, Karen Friedenberg, and Debbie Treadman.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Charlene Warriner; one nephew, David Jessen, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cremation rites are being accorded, and the family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., presided by Deacon Jay Plese.

Inurnment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage in Wilmington.
