Obituary

Age 65 of Morris, formerly of Manteca, California, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021.

Born September 21, 1956 in Chicago, Patty was a daughter of Denis II and Rita (Buczko) Foley. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Romeoville High School. On April 1, 1978, Patty married Michael Joseph Elsen, Sr.

She and her husband began their married life in Chicago before moving to Manteca, California, where they lived for twenty years. Upon her husband's passing, Patty relocated to Morris where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris and worked at Walmart in Morris for several years as a customer service associate until she retired. Patty enjoyed any type of crime show or drama, and was a lover of all animals. She was particularly interested in bird watching, little wild creatures, and above all else, her dogs.

Patty lived for her family and relished her role as a mother and grandmother. She maintained close relationships with all of her extended family, and especially looked forward to family gatherings and holiday parties when she could be surrounded by all the people that she loved.

Survivors include her two children: Michael (Melissa) Elsen, Jr. of Chicago and Kathleen Elsen of Morris; two grandchildren: Mila Elsen and Patrick Elsen; two brothers and two sisters: Denis (Lisa) Foley III of Darien, Laura (Romo) Manuel of Manteca, California, Thomas (Denise) Foley of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Susan (Santiago) Padilla of Crest Hill; one uncle and one aunt: Paul (Donna) Buczko of Chicago and Maureen Hutton of Burbank; twelve nieces and nephews: Denis Foley IV, Kristina Kripple, Amy (Brad) Mast, David (Amber) Kripple, Nathan (Amy) Foley, Emily Padilla, Sara Padilla, Mary Ann Bicknell, Karen Grace, Christopher (Lisa) Elsen, Lisa (Rob) Jordan, and Andrew (Mili) Elsen; numerous great nieces and great nephews, including Eva Foley who was her little buddy; and her canine companion, Lily.
